Adoption was a blessing for me, but not for the people around me. From the start I was picked on because I was different, or not the Asian sterotype. For five years I was bulimic, it started in 5th grade when I was picked on at school. They would make fun of my eyes and said "I thought all Asians were skinny." I always wanted to be the center of attention but not like that. So I turned to cutting. The feeling of not fitting in never sat well with me. I love my family but I just stopped thinking. Yes, this may be a bad example, but its the truth. I have struggled but I have overcome! I am eight months free of cutting and looking forward on what to come. Adoption has been the best part of my life, I am thankful everyday for the support system by my side. My mom is my family, she has stuck by me. That is love.
